Looking Back: Annual Azerbaijani Discipleship Training

Thanks to your prayers and financial support, we were once again able to organize an Azerbaijani discipleship training in Germany in partnership with Vineyard Church Nuremberg.

It was a rare and valuable opportunity to bring together Azerbaijanis living in a foreign culture so different from their own. The camp provided a safe space where participants could openly ask questions and learn about Jesus and His Kingdom—something that is often difficult in their everyday lives in Germany. Many share similar challenges: leaving their homeland and adapting to a new country.

For new Azerbaijani believers in Germany, gatherings like this are crucial for spiritual growth, building community, and mutual support—also helping them integrate into life here.

This year’s focus was on discipleship multiplication, using tools such as the 4 Fields diagram, 411 training, and other practical methods.

These meetings create space to explore Scripture, share experiences, learn from one another, celebrate faith, and connect with others who share the same background.

We were especially encouraged to see emerging leadership among the Azerbaijani participants—watching them lead group sessions and teach their fellow countrymen.

Another great blessing this year was the support of the Southwest Bible Church (SWBC) team from Austin, who lovingly invested in the children’s and youth programs, allowing parents to fully engage in the training. Thank you!

One particularly moving story was about a couple who had separated last year due to a misunderstanding. By “chance,” they met again in the city and decided to attend the discipleship camp together. There, God touched their hearts; they repented and chose to restore their marriage. This deeply moved and inspired us all.

Regular gatherings like these are essential for the discipleship process—especially for those who feel isolated or under pressure because of their faith. They provide much-needed space for learning, encouragement, biblical teaching, and fellowship.

They serve as an important bridge between the old roots of Azerbaijani believers and their new life in Christ.
