Living Out God’s Love in Practice

When Jesus calls us, His followers, to “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), for us that means bringing the message of God’s Kingdom into our German city centers. Here live people who have never heard about God’s love for them. We don’t only want to speak about this love—we want to live it in practice.

It all began with a group of Christians from different churches who regularly met for prayer walks through the neighborhood. Out of this came new encounters every week and friendships with Muslim shopkeepers, Turkish and Afghan restaurant owners—and over time we even got to know Bulgarian Christians.

Lichtblick – A Home in the Neighborhood

Eventually God gave us a clear sign: Stay! Since January 2024, we finally have a permanent place in the neighborhood—how we came to receive these rooms is its own exciting story …

Lichtblick (“Ray of Hope”) is a place where the Kingdom of God is meant to become visible.
A place where Jesus’ love gets “hands and feet”:

• Relationships & Pastoral Care: Building trusting relationships with the people in the neighborhood, forming friendships, listening to emotional needs and spiritual questions.

• Practical Help & Social Projects: Support for families, children’s programs during school holidays, assistance with everyday challenges, clothing distribution, and shared meals.

• Discipleship & Prayer: We are seeing more and more interest in Jesus. That’s why we continue to pray together every Monday for the neighborhood and regularly host discipleship trainings on site.
