Hello! We are the Wanjalas: Dauglas, Melanie, Jael, and Joyce – a German-Ugandan family who loves Jesus and people. Wherever we are, we want to make the people around us familiar with our wonderful God, most of all through hospitality and spending time with them.
Our home is meant to be a safe place for children and adults who are searching for hope. Encouraging, equipping, and making young people into disciples of Jesus is especially close to our hearts. Now our journey with Jesus is leading us back to Uganda. God has placed especially the themes of discipleship and sustainable agriculture on our hearts—through which we hope many villages and unreached people groups can be reached.
Very practically, we continue to build our heart project: the Glory Flow Farm, which God brought into being in 2022. Here, in Dauglas’ home village, we have been planting fruit trees since 2022 and currently have about 70 goats and 500 chickens on the farm, which is located in Busia, eastern Uganda.
It is our desire that the farm will bless the surrounding villages with jobs, skills in sustainable agriculture, and living community. The vision for our ministry is to further expand the farm operations and to use the products both for sale and soon in our own restaurant on the farm property.
In the long run, the farm is also to include bungalows and a resort facility with a swimming pool. Situated right on the border with Kenya, the property will be well suited for tourism and as an event location. But above all, we hope it will become a place for discipleship and leadership training, as well as prayer, worship services, and community.
Our prayer is that the farm and the entire property will be a safe place where discipleship is lived out and people can experience Christian fellowship. We believe that God wants to create here a place of peace and growth where many people can find hope.
