Dauglas and Melanie
Global Nomads Germany
Hello! We are the Wanjalas: Dauglas, Melanie, Jael, and Joyce – a German-Ugandan family who love Jesus and people. Wherever we are, we want to share our wonderful God with the people around us, preferably through hospitality and spending time together.
Our home is meant to be a safe haven for children and adults seeking hope. We are particularly committed to encouraging and equipping people and guiding them in their discipleship of Jesus. Now, our journey with Jesus takes us back to Uganda. God has placed a special emphasis on discipleship and sustainable agriculture, which we hope will allow us to reach many villages and previously unreached communities.
On a practical level, we are continuing to build on our passion project, Glory Flow Farm , which God brought into being in 2022. Here, in Dauglas's home village in Busia in eastern Uganda, we have been planting fruit trees since 2022 and now keep about 70 goats and 500 chickens on the farm.
We hope that the farm will bring jobs, knowledge of sustainable agriculture, and a vibrant community to the surrounding villages. Our vision for this project is to further expand the farm operations, sell the produce, and soon offer it in our own restaurant on the farm grounds.
In the long term, the farm will include bungalows and a resort with a swimming pool, in addition to the restaurant. Located directly on the border with Kenya, the facility will be well-suited for tourism and as an event venue. Above all, however, we hope it will become a place for discipleship and leadership training, as well as for prayer, worship, and fellowship.
Our prayer is that the farm and the entire property will become a safe place where discipleship is practiced and people can experience Christian fellowship. We believe that God wants to create a place of peace and growth here, where many people can find hope.
